Stoneygate Competition

Stoneygate Competition

During Fresher’s Week 2015, students from all courses and years in the Institute were invited to take place in a week long competition aimed at welcoming new students.

Each group was set the task of creating a design to celebrate the work of Preston-born inventor Sir Richard Arkwright which would be located outside Arkwright’s former home in Preston city centre, providing a link between Arkwright House and the City.

All 10 groups presented their ideas and were judged by staff at the University as well as members of the North Lancashire Society of Architects. The winning design was by students Charlie Wall, Mohammad Bholah, Ryan Keen, Andrew Winbow, Saara Malik and Matthew Keefe.
